BVB Acquires Striker Mohamed Zidan
 
[17.08.] Borussia Dortmund has acquired striker Mohamed Zidan from Hamburger SV (Hamburg). After undergoing a medical check, the 26 year-old Egyptian international, who also holds Danish citizenship, signed a four-year contract with BVB today (Sunday). His contract is valid through June 30, 2012.

Zidan has appeared in 77 Bundesliga matches for HSV, Werder Bremen and under new BVB coach Jürgen Klopp at Mainz 05. Zidan has scored 27 goals in those appearances. Mohamed Zidan is expected for his first training session with BVB on Tuesday.

Mladen Petric moved in the other direction from BVB to Hamburger SV. As part of the transfer agreement, BVB received a transfer fee along with Zidan for Petric. Neither club has disclosed the amount of that transfer fee.
