| | | Jürgen Klopp: "We took the foot off the gas for a brief moment..." | | | | [1.12.] Both coaches agreed that it was an intense game of football. "It went through different stages, and a draw is a fair result," said Jürgen Klopp after the 1-1 draw at Bayern Munich. And yet, the BVB coach was a little unhappy with the goal his side conceded. "We play really well, are dominant, have three chances and then take the foot off the gas for a brief moment." | | | | | Jürgen Klopp and Jupp Heynckes | Jürgen Klopp: "We needed a bit to get into the game, had too much respect for Bayern. We allowed them too much space. After 20 minutes or so we started to get a foot in the game. At half-time we showed the team footage of the space they hadn´t used. We play it really well, are dominant, have three chances and then take the foot off the gas for a brief moment. We score a fantastic equaliser but after making a change in central defence Bayern have three big chances that were all dealt with by Roman. He is a great goalkeeper. Now we all know it."
Jupp Heynckes: "It was a great and intense game of football. We started well but in between lost control of the game. After the break we needed 15 minutes to recover our rhythm. In the last 30 minutes we mounted the pressure again, combined and played well against a well-organized opposition. We should have scored in the closing stages but Weidenfeller came up with some great saves. It was a game between two top teams playing modern football, a great game by both sides."
