On Tuesday, 18 days before the Bundesliga restart at Hamburger SV, Borussia Dortmund will begin their preparations for the second half of the season with a fitness test, the so-called "lactate test". They will then have two training sessions at the club´s training ground in Brackel on Wednesday before leaving for a training camp in Spain on Thursday.
BVB will play two warm-up matches in La Manga, against Belgium´s Standard Liege on 8 January, and against Spanish second division leaders Elche CF on 11 January, with both games kicking off at 16.30 CET. After their return to Germany, BVB take part in the Winter Cup, a tournament played in Düsseldorf on Sunday, 15 January. The German champions will play two games of 45 minutes each, the first being against Fortuna Düsseldorf (1400 CET), and the second either being the third-place match (1600) or the final (1700) against Borussia Mönchengladbach or Werder Bremen.
The last warm-up match before the season resumes will be against Rot-Weiss Oberhausen on Wednesday, 18 January (1830).
