Santana: "I gave everything for the team"

[10.02.] Just like his teammates and coach, BVB central defender Felipe Santana was not happy after the 4-1 defeat to Hamburg. "We fought like crazy, but it was one of those days when the ball just would not go in," said Santana. The Brazilian was also not surprised by a system switch towards the end of the match.

How do you explain the defeat to HSV?
"Itīs difficult to say. We actually played a good first half, but conceded two goals through tactical errors. We then fought like crazy, but unfortunately it was one of those days when the ball just would not go in."

BVB even switched to a three-man defence towards the end of the match, and you had to cover a lot of ground. Was it hard for you?
"No, it was totally normal. In Brazil I often played in this role and I like it. It was a decision by the coach based on the situation, and you need to adapt to it. Which I did, and I gave everything for the team."
