Jürgen Klopp - "Itīs a real challenge"

[8.03.] There are a couple of Augsburgs scattered throughout Germany. There is, of course, Jakob Fuggerīs home town in the region of Swabia, and there is also a little town in the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein called Augsburg. And there must be more than one FC Augsburg because the team that crashed to a 4-0 defeat at Borussia Dortmund on 1 October 2011 has absolutely nothing in common with the side the German champions will meet this Saturday (kick-off: 1830 CET) in the Bundesliga.

On top in the first game this season: Santana and his BVB team-mates.
In the first half of the season, FCA needed 14 shots to score one goal. This year they only needed seven shots to find the net. Augsburg have also only lost one of their last six games, and are on a five-game unbeaten run at home in the Bundesliga, picking up 11 out of a possible 15 points.

"You think that with all that coverage you know everything about the other clubs, but I actually have not read anywhere how much this team has improved," said Jürgen Klopp about the Bundesliga new boys who have, according to Klopp, finally adjusted to life in the top flight and signed some good players during the winter break. "We expect a very tough game," said Klopp, recalling that Augsburg came close to holding Bayern Munich a few weeks ago.

The BVB coach also expects the Swabian to pull a few tactical surprises. "In some areas they do man-to-man marking, and in attack they are very flexible," said Klopp, adding: "You donīt see that every week which makes it a real challenge for us."
