Exchanging a hug: Hans-Joachim Watzke, Reinhard Rauball
"You have given a proud club their reputation back," Hans-Joachim Watzke told the team at the banquet. "Thanks to you, we are surfing on a wave of sympathy. Celebrate this day as you deserve it like no other team before. But remember during your holidays that itīs a lot more difficult to preserve success and improve on it. We will remain modest, but ambitious."

It became very emotional when the BVB chairman called the outgoing Nuri Sahin and Dede onto the stage. The latter he described as "the captain of the hearts" and said, "You have gone through all the highs and lows. And to leave now with the trophy is just great." Watzke then appointed Dede "to a guest of honour to all title celebrations." And he told Nuri Sahin, "If one day Real Madrid is not ambitious enough for you anymore, we will get you back!"

Before the team then left to appear on the German TV sports show "Aktuelles Sportstudio", Dr Reinhard Rauball finally presented Jürgen Klopp with his championship medal because during the presentation ceremony in the afternoon they had run out of medals. The BVB and league president had left no stone unturned to get this and a second copy from the DFL headquarters in Frankfurt. The second medal was presented to Hans-Joachim Watzke who "has done a sensational job at top management level."

And then he officially declared the party of the year open: "...and donīt go home too early!"
