What child wouldn't want three months of uninterrupted summer holiday? For the Evonik Soccer School trainers, that's nothing out of the ordinary. Across a total of 80 days during the summer months, they helped junior players to 'train like the pros' in 29 different locations.

Record participation levels: 61 Male and female trainers, both licensed and qualified with a sports science background, gave a total of 3,365 children filled with enthusiasm for the Black and Yellows some fantastic footballing moments, travelling from Dortmund to locations across the globe with any amount of footballing fun stuffed into their suitcases.

Pure fun and total commitment!

Intensive-Programme: Alongside the improvement of the technical side of the kids' game, with a heavy focus on dribbling, tricks and feints, shooting and heading the ball, receiving and controlling the ball as well as passing – the core tenets of which Borussia Dortmund's training concept at its youth development centre is comprised – the conveyance of social competencies was also part of the programme. And so, the up-and-coming players learned the importance of working together as part of a group and placing one's trust in teammates in specially designed "team-building" games. Using the BVB book on nutrition for youth players, "What's on your plate is decisive", the young male and female athletes were given important dietary tips in combination with football exercises.

The maximum dose of football and fun for over 3,000 kids across the last three months.

More than twice around the whole world: BVB's Evonik Soccer School has visited a total of six different countries in the last three months, going to a total of 29 different locations, the equivalent of more than two times around the whole world! Destinations included Thailand, China, Japan, Poland, Austria and Luxembourg. The BVB trainers ran a total of 64 intensive courses, bringing about thousands of wonderful footballing moments in the process.

Strong partners on the sidelines: In order to deliver the maximum dose of football possible to all of the children, the BVB Evonik Soccer School is of course in need of strong partners to help them do so. We would like to thank in particular Evonik, Signal Iduna, Rewe, PUMA Japan and the DFL. This year, the soccer school trained 1092 children whose parents work for Evonik, or who are customers of theirs.
