Borussia Dortmund recorded a double-digit million profit for the third fiscal year in a row to even exceeed its own sales targets. The results were presented by CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke and CFO Thomas Tress at the club’s annual press conference regarding the preliminary results for the financial year 2013/2014.

“Borussia Dortmund has again kept its promise. After the - clearly transfer-driven – revenues and earnings of the 2012/2013 financial year, in which, among other things, record earnings in the Bundesliga were achieved, we set ourselves the ambitious target of breaking the 250 million euros mark for the fiscal year 2013/14 without money from big transfers,” said Watzke.

In the past financial year 2013/2014 (1 June 2013 to 30 June 2014), Borussia Dortmund’s revenues amounted to 260.7 million euros in the company, which includes the BVB Merchandising GmbH. Profit after taxes of the group amounted to 12 million euros. The revenues in the individual financial statement of the company amounted to 223.8 million euros, with a profit after taxes of 10.6 million euros.

“Adjusted for revenues from transfers, sales even rose last season despite the - compared to the previous year with the final appearance - comparatively early exit in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League ,” said Tress.

Given the results, the management intends to propose to the supervisory board the payment of a dividend in an amount of 0.10 euros per share for the decision to be jointly taken regarding the proposal of appropriation of profits to the annual shareholders' meeting 2014. The supervisory board will adopt a decision about this in its meeting on 9 September 2014.

“Borussia Dortmund is growing sustainably, is very healthy and ambitious on the pitch, and has generated now a double-digit million profit for the third fiscal year in a row. The again positive results strengthen our confidence that we will pass the threshold of 300 million euros without any mayor transfers in the medium term,” said Watzke.
