Borussia Dortmund have been paired with FC St. Pauli in the second round of the DFB Cup, with the game taking place in Hamburg on 28/29 October. The draw was made after BVB’s 2-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday night in Dortmund.

The fixtures were drawn by Mexican TV presenter Vanessa Huppenkothen and Germany’s Under-19 coach Marcus Sorg. It will be the first time BVB and St. Pauli meet in the DFB Cup. In the Bundesliga, both sides have met 16 times (11 wins, three draws) already.

“I know St. Pauli, and it’s always tough to play away from home,“ said BVB striker Ciro Immobile, while St. Pauli coach Roland Vrabec was delighted with the pairing, saying: “It’s a fantastic draw for us.”

The Black and Yellows’ last defeat at Millerntor dates back to 30 November 1989. They then went on to win five games in a row in Hamburg, the last one being a 3-1 victory on 25 September 2010 with goals from Kagawa and Grosskreutz (2).
