Overcoming environmental and social problems is the responsibility of society as a whole. The expectations placed on football clubs to take on more and more responsibility are also steadily increasing. The Sustainability Report for the 2022/23 season shows how sustainability management at Borussia Dortmund has developed over the past year.

It isn't easy looking back on last season from a sporting perspective – despite excitement until the last second, the highly coveted final goal was not achieved.

But it is not only on the pitch that we can and want to improve. Away from the 90-minute games of, we also continue to take responsibility, commit ourselves to a more sustainable future and use our influence to contribute to social achievement. Step by step. Day by day.

Whether it is the introduction of an environmental management system, the league-wide establishment of new and mandatory DFL sustainability criteria or ongoing dialogue with fans, employees and partners: the past reporting period once again offered a wide range of topics and measures that continuously serve to bolster BVB's sustainable development.

With this most recent sustainability report for 2022/23 – our seventh in total – we highlight the developmental steps made by Borussia Dortmund in the past year as part of the club's holistic approach to sustainability management.

This year, both on and off the pitch, we will continue to do things better.
