Borussia Dortmund congratulates their president Dr. Reinhard Rauball to his 70.Birthday! He was born on the 25.December 1946 in Northeim, he has lived in Dortmund and Herdecke since 1960 and the lawyer has dedicated his life to his club. He saved BVB three times from bankrupcy.

Hans-Joachim Watzke, the CEO, refers to Rauball as the "Adi Preißler of the negotiating table" and emphasises: "there is no one better. In the end it comes down to the fact that whatever you are convinced about in your general way of thinking and the decisive nature of your decisions, you are always someone who can see both sides."

During his first spell in office from 1979 to 1982 the lawyer who was just 32 years old back then went down in history as the youngest president of a Bundeliga club, the second spell in office between 1984 and 1986 was marked by the financial crisis BVB was going through, that was successfully overcome not least due to Rauball's strategic decisions.

In 2004 Dr. Reinhard Rauball was elected president of BV. Borussia 09 e.V. Dortmund for the third time during a time of great upheaval and distress and in the years 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2016 he was confirmed as the best man for the job by the remarkable member approval rates of 99 and 100%. He says: "I have been proud to be the president of this great club during every minute of my time in office."

Rauball has also been the president of the league association since 2007, which means he is also the chairman of the supervisory board of the DFL and in addition he is the vice president of the DFB. He was the acting president of the German Football Association from November 2015 to April 2016.

Dr. Reinhard Rauball, who still plays football with his friends every week, is celebrating his 70.birthday today. Everyone at Borussia Dortmund sends him their best wishes on his special day. (br)
