Sporting director Michael Zorc, skipper Sebastian Kehl and goalkeeper Zlatan Alomerovic were pleased with Borussia’s second half performance against Hessen Kassel on Tuesday. Reactions to BVB’s opening pre-season match.

Michael Zorc: “We struggled to get into the game, and you could tell that they went through some tough training sessions in the last couple of days. In the second half they created some fine goals. It was a good start.”

Sebastian Kehl: “We’ve been in training now for one and a half weeks, and we trained at high intensity. We have never played in this line-up before, but we still had some good passing and movement. We know we can play better, but at this moment we shouldn’t be too unhappy and see it as a good start. Hessen Kassel were in good form, but their season also starts in two weeks.”

Zlatan Alomerovic: “We didn’t take our chances in the first half and instead conceded a silly goal as we were too deep in that situation. We upped the tempo in the second half and picked up a deserved 4-1 win.”
