Borussia Dortmund centre-back Neven Subotic had his knee examined by Professor Strobel in Straubing, Bavaria, on Thursday afternoon, and the scan revealed good news.

There is reasonable hope that Subotic, who suffered a torn posterior cruciate ligament in his knee in the Bundesliga match at VfL Wolfsburg earlier this season, will not need further surgery.

Subotic will have further scans on his injured knee next week.
