When the aeroplane transporting the team and officials lands at Tokyo-Haneda airport in the Japanese capital on Monday at 14:55 local time (7:55 CET), a BVB contingent will already be there. A group including Borussia Dortmund's international ambassador Karl-Heinz Riedle, youth coordinator Lars Ricken and mascot EMMA is already on Asian soil to give the Black and Yellows on board flight NH 224 from Frankfurt a warm reception upon landing in the nine-million-strong metropolis...

They are likely to be joined by throngs of excited Japanese fans who are set to make their way to the airport on Monday with the sole purpose of welcoming their German guests. In particular, the presence of Shinji Kagawa in the team has secured BVB a great many fans in Japan, making the start of a five-day Asian Tour in the land of the rising sun a logical step for the club.

However, the journey began several days earlier for a small BVB contingent including Karl-Heinz Riedle, Lars Ricken and the "BVB total!" team, who have been experiencing the country and its people at first hand since Thursday. The BVB icons have been recognised and warmly welcomed everywhere, whether in the trendy quarter of Shibuya, at the traditional Meiji Shrine or at the top of the Tokyo Skytree - the second tallest building in the world at 634 metres. Meanwhile, the team bus has also been making its way through the city's streets since this Sunday.

Ongoing detailed reports of BVB's Asian tour will be provided on all of the club's digital channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube as well as on bvb.de and our mobile app. (pf)
