The ball is rolling once more on Adi-Preißler-Allee in Dortmund-Brackel. The new U23s training team, including Head Coach Jan Siewert, Co-Trainer David Solga and Goalkeeper Trainer Thomas Feldhoff, greeted many new faces to BVB's regional league team.

Patrick Pflücke, Paterson Chato Nguendong, Oliver Steurer, and Haymenn Bah-Traore are all new to BVB, while Patrick Fritsch, Amos Pieper, Dario Scuderi and Janni Serra have progressed from the U19s. Furthermore, Mohamed El-Bouazzati is back from VfL Osnabrück, where he had been on loan. Eike Bansen and Etienne Amenyido, who have also made the step up from the U19s, are currently at a DFB U19s training camp, and are hoping to travel to the European Championship in July that will take place in Georgia.

Though Scuderi and Bah-Traore were still unable to participate in training due to injury, the other players gave everything they had on the training field. Trainer Siewert was visibly impressed by his charges' enthusiasm: "The boys have trained very well today, are hungry for the ball and gave a good account of themselves."

Massimo Ornatelli is back

BVB had time to greet a familiar face before training commenced: Massimo Ornatelli has returned. Ornatelli was born in Dortmund and was a part of Borussia Dortmund's Youth Development from 1994 to 2004, during which time he played under the U23s' current sporting director, Ingo Preuß. He has come from FSV Frankfurt for a period of two years. In 2005, Ornatelli transferred from the BVB U23s to Arminia Bielefeld's second team. He now returns to his roots having travelled via Preußen Münster, VfL Osnabrück, SC Paderborn and finally FSV Frankfurt. Jens Volke
