2-0 in the first leg and 1-0 in the return leg against FC Porto – Borussia Dortmund have eliminated one of its most prominent rivals from the competition in a confident manner and without conceding a goal. Yet Thomas Tuchel was anything but pleased with his side’s performance at the Estádio do Dragão.

“In the home match we laid the foundations. But for long periods today we played like an orchestra not in unison and with no rhythm,” criticised the Head Coach and added “but we never lost our discipline nor our drive. These two components helped us to a deserved victory over the two matches.”
Thomas Tuchel was asked at the Press Conference whether his Borussia Dortmund outfit are now favourites for the title. “It isn’t important whether we are favourites or not, but rather that we play as one and can produce a performance like we did in the first leg,” said Tuchel. “We need to have this precision on the pitch in the future. The longest journey begins with the first step. A strong opponent no doubt awaits in the next round. We are going to have to step it up even more!”
