In an era in which artificial intelligence, blockchain, the Internet of Things, robotics, and web 3.0 are rapidly transforming our world, Borussia Dortmund, in collaboration with MIT xPRO (Massachusetts Institute of Technology xPRO) and WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, is proud to announce the launch of the innovative online course "Transformational Technologies".

This innovative educational initiative is designed to explore the significant impact of these advanced technologies in both professional and personal spheres. It marks a pioneering step in professional sports, an industry that has consistently stayed ahead of the technological curve, demonstrating how these advancements shape the future of business across industries.

In the individual modules, the focus will be put on topics such as how AI and advanced analytics enhance data-based decision-making, or how virtual, augmented, and mixed reality, along with web 3.0, extend human interaction towards a metaverse. Above all, the emphasis lies on how industries and companies of our course participants can benefit from the use of these groundbreaking technologies.

"Transformational Technologies" is designed to provide a unique insight into the world of sports in general and the BVB in particular. Among the BVB-experts are Carsten Cramer (BVB Managing Director), Sebastian Kehl (Sporting Director), Shad Forsythe (Head of Sports Performance), Alexander Mühl (Director of Marketing and Digitalization), and Svenja Schlenker (Head of Girls' and Women's Football).

This asynchronous course was developed by MIT xPRO and WHU and marks a ground-breaking initiative, providing business professionals from various industries with insights into how new technologies are redefining the rules of the 21st century. For this, Professor Sascha L. Schmidt (WHU), Senior Lecturer Ben Shields (MIT), and many other experts from top-notch faculties share their expertise.

After successful completion of the course, participants will earn a professional certificate from WHU and MIT xPRO and 2.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from MIT xPRO.
