Despite their intense Cup tie just four days earlier, Borussia Dortmund piled on the pressure in the closing stages and had five of their eleven chances after the 83rd minute. Meanwhile, Hoffenheim had 15 chances in an intense match with an action-packed ending.

On the ball: Mats Hummels had the most touches by any player (79) and won a good two-thirds of his tackles. The defender also scored his second goal of the season - again a header from a corner - having already netted in Bremen on matchday 17.

Back in the squad: Lukasz Piszczek returned to the BVB squad for the first time since picking up an injury in Turin on 24 February.

In action again: Six BVB players who started the match in Hoffenheim played the full 120 minutes in the club's DFB Cup tie on Tuesday, with four more at least playing a part in the victory over Bayern. Only Neven Subotic was completely rested ahead of the clash with TSG.

Time for a rest: Having not missed a single minute in the last eight competitive matches, Sokratis Papastathopoulos was named on the bench for the match in Hoffenheim for the first time since BVB hosted Cologne in mid-March.

Unbeaten run: BVB extended their unbeaten run against TSG to five competitive games, this time drawing after consecutive victories in the previous three matches.

Motivated by the manager? Borussia Dortmund have not lost a single competitive match since Jürgen Klopp announced his impending departure from the club, with BVB claiming seven points from three league games and dispatching Bayern Munich on penalties in the DFB Cup semi-final.

First time: Hummels' header was the first time Hoffenheim have conceded a goal from a corner all season.

Attacking line-up: Firmino, Volland, Modeste and Szalai all featured for TSG from the start – a first for Hoffenheim. (br)
