"Although Wolfsburg have a 25-point lead over us in the Bundesliga, we've still got a chance in the final," said Jürgen Klopp in the wake of his side's 2-1 defeat in Wolfsburg. Two refereeing decisions were also the subject of some discussion after the match.

A great game ends with a 2-1 win for Wolfsburg. Is that a fair result?
After our sloppy opening minute we kept our opponents busy and managed to create and make chances. In view of Wolfsburg's quality, it's impossible to prevent them from having any chances to score against you. I'd feel considerably better about the match if we'd at least picked up a point today. We put in a very good performance for 88 minutes of the match, we just weren't on the ball for two minutes. Although our bad minute in the second period is perhaps mitigated by the fact that we actually defended the ball very well from a corner and then two Wolfsburg players were in an offside position. And then we were 2-1 down after that - in a match like that... Ultimately, though, the verdict is still: all that effort for nothing. Unfortunately, that's often been the case this year.

The offside not being given was not the only talking point. There was another incident where BVB weren't awarded a penalty.
The referee really had an outstanding game. Unfortunately, though, he wasn't quite on the mark in three instances, which ultimately had negative consequences for us. Otherwise the result might've been 1-1 or 2-2, which would've considerably strengthened our position.

Mats Hummels had to sit the match out. What happened there?
He took a knock on his foot in yesterday's training session which meant receiving treatment, but he trained again afterwards. I spoke to him this morning. He said to me: It hurts but it won't be a problem. But he couldn't really warm up properly before the game. However I don't think that it's anything to worry about.

And Marco Reus? He was able to inject momentum once again.
He's got the fresh legs we need, having had a number of spells out this season. Marco has been training normally for three days and is on the right track. There's still another week of training until the Bremen match, then another week after that until the final against Wolfsburg.

Did the match provide you with any new insights with regard to the Cup final?
Perhaps the fact that although Wolfsburg have a 25-point lead over us in the Bundesliga, we've still got a chance in the final. It'll be a great final. You'll see that both teams want to win at all costs. Wolfsburg have an extremely strong team and they're having an excellent season.

A point against Bremen will be enough to secure seventh despite the loss in Wolfsburg.
My thoughts are still occupied with today's match in Wolfsburg. They're not something I can get rid of in 30 minutes. I'd have liked to win here, and I feel that was possible too.
