The tight result in no way reflected the game as a whole. Borussia was definitely far superior, they achieved 22:7 shots on goal as well as 62 per cent possession and they gave Jürgen Klopp a victory as a good bye present. The facts to the game.

Good second half to the season: Borussia Dortmund won more than twice as many points in the second half of the season (31) than in the first half of the season (15).

Early start: For the first time this season BVB scored three goals in the first half.

Matchwinner: For the first time since March 2012 Shinji Kagawa was involved in three goals in a game (one goal and two assists). The Japanese player won ten of his eleven Scorer-points in the second half of the season. He and Aubameyang personify the upswing in BVB’s fortunes after the winter break. In addition, BVB won all four games this season where Shinji Kagawa scored a goal.

Top Scorers: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored eleven of his sixteen goals this season in the second half of the season. Only Bas Dost has scored more goals in 2015.

In Form: Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been involved in six goals in the last six games (two goals and four assists). He scored his third goal at home in the game against Bremen and was involved in 13 shots on goal.

No way to get past him: Neven Subotic won the most challenges in the game (82 % where he won the ball).

Anniversary goals: The 1-0 was the 1700th home goal for BVB in the Bundesliga, the 2-0 was 1500th goal conceded by Bremen away from home.

Bogey team BVB: Werder lost for the eighth time in a row at BVB, which is a negative record. The last time they lost away to one team in succession that often was against Mönchengladbach back in the 70’s.

Werder strong at set pieces: For the 19th time this season a set piece by Junozovic led to a goal. This has not happened in the last 20 years ever since statistics were first put into place.  (br)
