At the press conference following the 4-0 win over Gabala, the media focus turned to Sunday's Ruhr Derby against Schalke 04. Coach Thomas Tuchel voiced his concerns regarding Marco Reus, who might not be available for selection.

Thomas Tuchel on...

...Marco Reus coming off at half-time:
"He lost his balance in a challenge and felt a pull in the groin area. That happened shortly before he scored our first goal. He wanted to continue playing until half-time. The injury is in a different location to the previous problems. It is still too early to say anything about Sunday's match. Maybe he'll be sidelined through injury, maybe he'll be able to play."

...tactical variations during the match:
"We had to react to the fact that our opponents were defending asymmetrically in a 3-4-2-1 formation, a different formation to the first match. We wanted to build up pressure from the back early on through Matse Ginter and Mats Hummels, especially as Julian Weigl was being marked. In the second half our positional play and our passing sharpness were better. We saw the game out well."

...the upcoming Ruhr Derby:
"I am very much looking forward to it, though the excitement has not really hit me just yet. That will change in time of course. There have already been a few special moments, for example at the first home match against Gladbach where there was a very positive atmosphere. I can imagine that it will be even more intense for the derby. Tonight at half 9 in the evening I don't feel it yet. But I will be ready for it, don't you worry about that."
