"We're not taking our chances," bemoaned Michael Zorc after the defeat in Krasnodar, though he warned the scoreline should not be the only means of assessment: "You cannot judge a match based on the result alone."

Borussia Dortmund will go into the home game against VfB Stuttgart on the back of two consecutive defeats. What's your take on this unusual situation?
The first-half performance in Hamburg was well below par, but in the second half of that match we had 16 shots on goal. So you need to look at each half in a different light. In Krasnodar we dictated the play over the course of the 90 minutes and had a lot of shots. We're just not being very effective at the moment. We're not taking our chances. That's the reason we've lost both matches.

It was the first time in 24 competitive games this season the team has failed to find the net. Did they bring about the defeat themselves?
You cannot judge a match based on the result alone. Our build-up play was good. We created a lot of chances and hit either the post or the bar on four occasions. Krasnodar might not be a big-name club, but they have a good team which definitely performs at a Bundesliga level.

How annoying is it that winning the group is no longer in your own hands?
In terms of the draw for the first knockout round it is problematic. If we had finished better in Krasnodar, we would have gone into the last game in a better position.

Does it make the task all the more difficult that VfB are under the leadership of a new coach?
It is possible that the new appointment might have an impact on them. But we need to focus on ourselves, turn things around and get back to winning ways - regardless of who is in the dugout for Stuttgart.

What are you expecting from the team on Sunday?
I'm expecting them to keep a clean sheet and be more effective in attack.
