"We need to dust ourselves down and keep going," said Gonzalo Castro after the 2-0 victory over FC Ingolstadt. The visitors' Marvin Matip criticised the referee but readily admitted that "Dortmund were the better side". Here are the initial reactions.

Mats Hummels: "I can understand why Ingolstadt are annoyed. They conceded a goal from an offside position that was then shown up on the big screen. I'm very much in favour of instant replays. It is very important that only goals that should stand do. Under such circumstances, I think 10-15 percent of decisions would be different."

Thomas Tuchel: "I believe that the referee did not see the replay of our first goal, but he is not able to change his decision retrospectively anyway. I am very much an advocate of reviewing all goals."

Gonzalo Castro: "Ingolstadt defended very, very well today. They gave us hardly any space and didn't give us a moment's peace for 90 minutes. That's difficult for a team that wants to play football. Ultimately we got a 2-0 win. Now we need to dust ourselves down and keep going."

Aubameyang and Piszczek celebrate taking the lead.

Marvin Matip (Ingolstadt): "We don't really need to talk about the football today. There were three decisions that went against us. I felt in the first half there should have been a penalty for us that we did not get. Dortmund's goal was offside and I don't know if our goal should have been chalked off either. The football we played today was not always spectacular. Dortmund were the better side. But we showed every ounce of our fighting spirit out there. We were cheated out of the reward we deserved from the game." (fu)

Ralph Hasenhüttl (Ingolstadt): The offside goal was the final straw. Everyone could see that it should not have been allowed. The referee needs to be able to rely on his assistants in such situations. The fact that we take no points from this game really angers me."

Guido Winkmann (Referee): The fact is that BVB's opener was offside.  The fact is that it decided the match. Ingolstadt were affected three times today, so there's a lot of furore. Even if I see the player was offside on the video screen, I am not able to change my decision retrospectively." (fu)
