Hertha BSC delivered a strong and tactical performance and gave away very few opportunities to the best offensive team in the league. Borussia’s 63% possession didn’t lead to much success because their opponent’s defence was so strong. BVB only managed nine shots – the least so far in any match this season.

The gap has been safeguarded: Borussia Dortmund dropped points for the first time in the second half of the season, but has maintained its ten point lead over Hertha.

Goalless: BVB finished goalless for the first time this season. Up to today Dortmund was the only team which had scored in every game. Throughout the season Borussia had scored at least once in each of the previous 26 Bundesliga matches. The last goalless match for BVB was on 4. April 2015 in a 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich.

0:0: It was also the first 0:0 draw for Borussia since 14.March 2015 in the match at home to 1. FC Köln. The last away 0:0 draw was at Hamburger SV on 7. March 2015.

Ball Magnet: Ilkay Gündogan had possession 138 times, more than double the amount of the best Hertha player (Darida with 57).

Winless in 2016: Hertha BSC is unbeaten in six games but has had to settle for three draws in the three Bundesliga games of the second half of the season so far and remains winless in 2016.
