They are usually really exciting matches when Black Yellow plays against Green White. In no other match pairing in the history of the Bundesliga has a team come back to win after going behind 0-1 more often. 15 times there has been a furious finish like that. Only three of 90 games between these two teams ended without any goals being scored. A statistical look at the Saturday evening game in the Bundesliga.

The situation: if BVB beats Bremen, they will have already secured at least third place in the Bundesliga after 28 matches, if Berlin lose to Gladbach on Sunday they will also have already secured second place. Bremen is only one point above a relegation place after they lost in Munich and drew against Mainz.

Home/away: BVB has not lost at home for exactly one year now and they have 15 wins and two draws in their own stadium. Even though Bremen has lost three of their last four away matches, they have still won more points on the road (17) than they did in the entire last season (15).

Personnel: information regarding the situation within both squads will follow on Friday

Record: Borussia has won eight of the last nine matches against Bremen. They have won eight games in a row at home. The last time Green White won any points in the Signal Iduna Park was on the 15.April, 2007 (2-0 win through goals by Klose and Diego). Borussia has lost to Bremen on nine occasions after taking the lead 1-0 - more often than against any other club, but they also came back from going behind more often than against any other club (six times). From nine penalties that were awarded at the Strobelallee, seven were for Borussia.

Statistics: BVB has not lost for ten games (last defeat was 1-2 in Koeln on the 19.12.2015). They have not had a run like this since 2012. Bremen has conceded in every one of their last 30 games, but has only lost one of their last five games and they have won a point or more in seven games so far where they have gone behind (best record in the league). Only Bayern (eight) has won more free-kicks than Werder (seven).

The highest win at home: Borussia has scored 148 goals against the team from north Germany. The most they scored in one game was on the 2.February, 1980 when they beat Bremen 5-0 through goals by Wolfgang Vöge, Theo Schneider twice, Manfred Burgsmüller and Herbert Hein.

Spectators: the Signal Iduna Park is sold out for the eleventh time this season with 81 359 spectaors.

Referee: the DFB will announce the referee on Thursday at 1600hrs.
