It was just a side note that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ilkay Gündogan are in the squad again for the home match against VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday (15:30 hrs), when Thomas Tuchel was asked about his squad. The main topic was Mats Hummels transfer request. This went public yesterday.

The Head Coach said: „I am happy about it, because we all know where we stand now and this means we can deal with it. Now it is all down to the clubs and the people involved in the negotiations. The main thing is to deal with this. We still have goals that we want to achieve."

„We will not stop challenging these club“

Tuchel himself looked to the future the day after his captain expressed his wish to leave BVB and he made it clear: "we have to accept that there is a category of clubs who  are above us. But we will not stop challenging these clubs  and we will not let it become evident on the pitch that these clubs have an advantage over us." That applies to the immediate future in the Cup final, this also applies for next season that Tuchel is not afraid of. Quite the contrary: "we are in discussions about our squad and we will also have a top team in the future!"

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ilkay Gündogan will be back in the squad after injury lay-offs. Tuchel reported that both were able to train "without pain and without problems" and said looking ahead to the game on Saturday: "only Joo-Hoo Park and Neven Subotic are not in the squad due to injury. The way it looks now, everyone else will be available for selection." Boris Rupert
