Having spoken about Borussia Dortmund's performance at the post-match press conference, coach Thomas Tuchel made his way across the narrow media room towards the buffet, where he picked up a sausage, slathered it with mustard and headed on towards the changing rooms. The 43-year-old was a visibly happy man.

Thomas Tuchel on his team's performance:
"We're very happy with the performance today. The players deserve a big, big compliment; they played extraordinarily well. The team delivered an outstanding display in all areas, showed great alertness and had the required spirit. Going into this one we were well aware of the difficulty awaiting us in Freiburg, which makes us all the more delighted that we managed to win. It gives us a very good feeling. It was a great step forward. A big compliment to my team!"

...on the crucial moments:
"We carried out our moves smoothly and we had the sharpness, tenacity and seriousness that was required to keep Freiburg at bay and get the three points. Tactically speaking, Freiburg are a top team. Their style of play is very difficult to defend against. It's important and only right that we enjoy this on the way home, that we're aware of how well we performed here. And that we recognise what made this performance so strong."

...on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's brace:
"It's a real relief! What you don't want is for your centre-forward to start thinking too much. During the first period, in which we failed to convert several chances, we couldn't deny there was a slight feeling of unease. It's best for all of us if Auba doesn't think twice, if he's eagerly anticipating our next matches, if he's looking forward to his next chances and if he has that effortlessness back in his game."

...on the upcoming DFB Cup tie in Lotte:
"We need another top performance on Tuesday. It's the quarter-final of the DFB Cup and it's away from home. The division the opposition are playing in is of absolutely no interest."

...on the state of his team:
"Apart from the match in Darmstadt, we've looked very solid recently and put in good performances. I believe we're capable of continuing in this vein. It's brilliant to have won, deservedly, while keeping a clean sheet at the same time, to have managed to give away very little. It was a great performance. And all these little things give us a boost."
