Roman Bürki was a real match-winner against Ingolstadt, helping to maintain Borussia's slender 1-0 lead with a string of superb saves. "The most important thing was getting the three points," he said in an interview with BVBtotal!.

Roman, goalkeepers always love keeping clean sheets but this was a really hard-fought victory, wasn't it?
"Absolutely. We gave it absolutely everything until the end. I'm very happy that Auba got that goal because otherwise it would've got a lot tougher. Especially towards the end we could've definitely been a bit more comfortable. We weren't clever enough and gave chances away we shouldn't have. Getting the three points was the most important thing."

You were frequently in the thick of the action. Which situation do you think was the most dangerous?
"Definitely that header from close range in the first half. I'm just happy I stood strong and made the save."

Now there's a short breather, international break, you're joining up with your national teams. Then you're in the final third of the season, the home straight. You still have all your objectives in sight. What are you looking forward to the most?
"The highlight will be the Champions League. We're still holding firm in all the competitions. The DFB Cup semi-final is another big match that we're looking forward to. Of course for the moment I'll have the national team on my mind, but of course I am already looking forward to the exciting games coming up with BVB."

"Monaco on the same level as us"

What are your thoughts on Monaco, your next Champions League opponents?
"We're looking forward to the two games. Monaco are definitely on the same level as us and we will do everything our power to get a result here at home."

Monaco score a lot of goals. So it looks like you could have your work cut out…
(laughs) "Well we have a good defence too. So with that in mind I'm not too worried. And it's not as if we struggle to score goals either..." (djg)
