Coach Thomas Tuchel was "very happy with the team's performance and the victory" following the 3-2 triumph over Borussia Mönchengladbach. The joy, though, was dampened by the injury to Nuri Sahin. For Sokratis, too, it is a close call as to whether he will be fit for Wednesday.

Thomas Tuchel on the table situation:
"We knew that we could move up to third place. But before the match we were also aware of how difficult it would be to get the victory we required, and how complicated it is to win in Gladbach. We knew that we would need to show a lot of courage, defend compactly, be very good on the ball and consistently look dangerous going forward each time we had possession. We managed all of that. The fact that we managed to emerge with the win, given the way the match unfolded, is something very special."

...on the course of play:
"The goal that we conceded in the first half was at least 50 percent an own goal, then later on we scored an actual own goal. After that we were suddenly 2-1 behind and we weren't quite sure how, because we had the feeling that we had put in a very good performance up until that point. It's a great feeling to have seen this reaction afterwards. The mood is one of exuberance at the moment, so I am very happy for my players, for all of us."

...on the injuries to Nuri Sahin and Sokratis:
"In Nuri's case, we suspect a torn ligament in his ankle. Papa has muscular problems and he will be a very close call for Wednesday."
