For BVB, everyone agreed that they just didn't take their chances, particularly in the first half. “We missed out on getting our goal,” said Gonzalo Castro. Here are the thoughts on today’s game.

Matthias Ginter: “Even in the first half hour we could have been 2-0 up. We didn’t capitalise on our chances. It is incredibly frustrating that we aren’t coming away with the 3 points. But we only have ourselves to blame for that”.

Gonzalo Castro: “In the first half we created some good, clearcut chances. We missed out on getting our goal. We knew that it was going to be difficult against a very deep and well organised Cologne defence. Overall it was a good performance. From Tuesday onwards we’ll be focussing on Hoffenheim. It’s in our own hands".

Raphael Guerreiro: “It’s a shame that we didn’t make the most of our chances in the first half. We had plenty of them. Cologne defended very well. We gave everything until the end. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to get the win today".

Thomas Tuchel: “It was a good performance and we had many great opportunities to score, but also allowed two counter-attacks in the first half. In the second half we didn’t allow any counter-attacks and defended incredibly well. The way we played today pleased me enormously”. (br)
