Sebastian Kehl, Gregor Kobel and Julian Brandt spoke about the deserved defeat in Leipzig.

Sebastian Kehl (in the mixed zone): "We were hoping to move up to fourth place today. We started the game well, but we showed too little over the 90 minutes! It wasn't good for long stretches. Leipzig were superior to us in many areas. The situation in the table has not yet been finalised, but the trend is clearly visible. We have to quickly turn our attention to Wednesday in order to turn fifth place into a Champions League place. We have that in our own hands."

Gregor Kobel (to Sky): "That was a step in the wrong direction today. Four goals conceded, and a really stinging defeat. There was nothing there for us today. We had to do more in a game like this. Leipzig created chances far too easily. It has to be said that we're not one of the best four teams in the Bundesliga this season. Nevertheless, we still have the chance to play at the very top. The season is not over yet."

Julian Brandt (to Sky): "We made too many mistakes. We started quite comfortably in the first half, played well and scored a goal early on. But as so often this season, we gave our opponents too many chances to score. We invited Leipzig in. It felt like they had 45 chances to score. That's too many in a game against a direct rival. 4-1 is tough. We're not aiming to finish fifth. We won't give up and will also try to qualify for the Champions League in other ways. Wednesday is Wednesday, today is today. And today was a bitter pill to swallow. Even though a few important players were missing. That's normal during the season, and has nothing to do with why we lost today."
