Borussia Dormund have secured another player with great prospects on a long-term agreement: right-back Erik Durm (21) signed an extension to his contract that will keep him with the Champions League finalists until 30 June 2017. "Erik is a talented young professional who like many others showed in an impressive fashion that players at Borussia Dortmund can break into the first team squad with top performances for the reserve side," said BVB sporting director Michael Zorc.

Happy at BVB: Erik Durm [firo]

Durm, who has been shifted into a defensive role at BVB and who made his Germany U21 debut in a 0-0 draw with France two weeks ago, thinks that his best chance to develop his game "is here at this extraordinary club with its extraordinary coaching staff."
Born in Pirmasens, Durm joined Borussia´s under-23 side from the FSV Mainz 05 reserves in the summer of 2012. He said: "The main reason for extending the contract was that I was able to experience how players at BVB got better and better through intensive coaching. I am totally looking forward to the next couple of years in black and yellow."
