Borussia Dortmund could be without Roman Weidenfeller for Saturday’s Bundesliga clash against Mainz 05 at a sold-out Signal Iduna Park. The Dortmund goalkeeper suffered a groin injury in Tuesday’s cup tie against Wolfsburg. “It doesn’t look like he’ll be available,” said Jürgen Klopp on Thursday.

Weidenfeller would be replaced – as in the last Bundesliga home game against Wolfsburg (2-1) – by Mitch Langerak. And due to the busy schedule of matches in recent weeks, the Dortmund coach has announced to make further changes to the starting line-up.

And still, despite this new concern, BVB’s crippling injury list seems to easing in time for the cup final on 17 May. Of the long-term absentees Subotic, Gündogan, Blaszczykowski, Schmelzer and Bender, the latter two have returned to running, with Schmelzer already doing “large volumes” of training, according to Klopp.
