Adrián Ramos was a happy man on Wednesday night. After spending almost an hour on the bench, the Colombian came on as a super sub against Anderlecht and made sure of BVB’s victory with two goals.

“You come on to seal the match,“ Jürgen Klopp had told the 28-year-old before his introduction, apparently having a premonition. After Ciro Immobile had put BVB in front early in the game, Ramos made it 2-0 on 69 minutes before sealing the match for the visitors ten minutes later.

“I always dreamt about scoring in the Champions League. And then I even scored twice,” said the striker after the game. In his second game in European club football's premier competition, Ramos showed the class and instinct of a true goal poacher, needing just 14 touches of the ball and three shots on goal to seal the three points for Borussia.

Colombian on target in all three competitions

“Adrián came on at the right time. Great to see that he was able to cap his performance,” Neven Subotic said in praise of the BVB striker after the 3-0 victory.

Ramos himself spoke of a very important victory that should give the team plenty of confidence for the next games. “We are hopefully on an upward curve again,” he said. After scoring two goals in the Bundesliga, one in the DFB Cup and now two in the Champions League, the Colombian’s personal form is definitively on the up.

Ramas scores every 78 minutes

The Colombian has now netted five goals in eight competitive matches, equalling a goal every 78 minutes. On Saturday he has a chance to increase his scoring tally even further when Borussia Dortmund take on Hamburger SV. And his chances are actually quite good as the northern German outfit seems to be his favourite opponent in the Bundesliga. Last season while with Hertha BSC, Ramos had a hand in all four goals his side scored in the two games against HSV (1-0; 3-0), scoring three and making one.
