If statistics are anything to go by, the Black and Yellows can sit back and relax ahead of their trip to Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday. The facts and figures are in BVB’s favour – now the team only has to prove that statistics don’t lie…

Borussia are Eintracht’s bogey team

  • Frankfurt are on a five-game winless run against Dortmund in the Bundesliga, drawing one and losing four. They have also only won one of their last eight home games (including DFB Cup) against BVB (in December 2010).
  • BVB have won the last four competitive matches against Frankfurt.
  • Borussia have won 11 matches at Frankfurt, they have only won more at Schalke (12).
  • Under Jürgen Klopp, BVB have only lost one match against teams coached by Thomas Schaaf.

Eintracht have a poor home record, Borussia a poor away record

  • Frankfurt have won only one of their last five home games, a 3-2 win over Cologne on 4 October.
  • Borussia are on a five-game winless run on their travels - the last time they had a run of this length was in September 2011. Their only away victory this season dates back to 29 August when they beat Augsburg 3-2.

What Borussia have to watch out for!

Fast attacks on the break through the quick and agile Seferovic, Inui, Aigner or Piazon are as much a part of Frankfurt’s repertoire as are crosses to the ever-threatening Meier. Eintracht are also good at set pieces, both in defence and attack, and have already scored 20 goals this season, the third-most in the Bundesliga.
