A final decision on whether Mats Hummels will finally make his return from injury hasn’t been made yet, but there’s a good chance he will be available for selection for Borussia Dortmund’s Bundesliga game against Eintracht Frankfurt. Sven Bender, however, is a major doubt for Sunday’s match.

“Manni unfortunately picked up a knock in London,“ said Jürgen Klopp on Friday about Bender who, according to the BVB coach, has suffered  a groin injury against Arsenal. “Now we have to wait and see how bad the damage is,” said Klopp. It’s going to be a race against time, so much is clear. “The players who are not fit enough to train on Saturday are unlikely to make it into the team for Sunday,” said Klopp.

It’s a good thing, therefore, that Mats Hummels is set to return to the squad, four weeks after suffering an ankle injury in the Bundesliga game at Bayern Munich. “He’s been back in full training since Wednesday and gone through some tough sessions. Mats is pain free now, now it remains to be seen as to whether he will be fit enough for Sunday,” said Klo
