The BVB versus Wolfsburg match was quite an interesting affair. The visitors dominated possession (61 percent), but both of their goals came from set pieces. Ciro Immobile, having his best game in a BVB shirt, had six attempts on goal, won 61 percent of his tackles, scored a goal and created the other.

Improved home record: Borussia Dortmund have picked up seven points from the last three home games against the strong sides of Mönchengladbach, Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg.

Top performance: Ciro Immobile had an outstanding game, getting his first assist for BVB, scoring a goal and having six attempts on goal. However, the Italian has yet to win a game when making the starting line-up.

Pushed to the limit: BVB collectively ran more than six kilometres more than VfL, who, however, enjoyed 61 percent possession.

Late goal: For the first time since the sixth match of the season, BVB have conceded after the 60th minute.

Season debut: Oliver Kirch was named into a BVB Bundesliga squad for the first time this season. Coming on as a substitute, he made an impact straight away by winning the ball that led to Borussia’s second goal.

Watch out: Wolfsburg’s Naldo already scored his fourth goal this season, and he’s also the player who’s had the most attempts on goal in the Bundesliga from corners.

Strong at set pieces: Wolfsburg are the Bundesliga’s most threatening side from set pieces (10 goals).
