Jürgen Klopp didn’t want to make too much about the well-deserved and ultimately relatively comfortably 3-2 win at VfB Stuttgart. “It was all I expected,” said the Dortmund coach who rued the defensive lapses which cost BVB two goals. “You don’t get results playing pretty football, you have to work hard for them.”

Jürgen Klopp on the win over Stuttgart:

We had big chances to score, and created great goals, but after the second goal we forgot to put the game to bed. The third goal was a gift and we were happy to accept it. We played well for most stages and picked up a well-deserved win. It was all I expected. We must stay on track, and results help.

… on the two Stuttgart goals:

To concede two goals from corners isn’t really smart. We still have a lot to do and there are reasons why we are where we are in the table. But on the whole we're on the right track. You don’t get results playing pretty football, you have to work hard for them. But you still have to keep playing which we did. But we lacked the final cutting edge, otherwise we would have sealed the match much earlier.

…on the opposition:

We tried to put them under pressure which is why many of their passes went out of play. We made sure that their confidence did not build.

… on the penalty:

We were lucky not to get a card for it. But then again, we haven’t had much luck this season.

… on Tuesday’s Champions League match:

It’s a completely different competition. But it's noticeable that a few jitters start creeping into the team's play when you're only leading 2-1. It will take a while before we will find ourselves in a different situation in the Bundesliga. Until then, the pressure remains. The Champions League is a whole different story. Juventus are multiple champions. We will not go there as favourites, but we will give our best. We want to achieve a good result. Let’s see who we will have available on Tuesday. But Bundesliga comes first, the Champions League is just a sweetener. There are only a few games like this one, and it won’t distract us going fully focussed into the next league game…
