The Borussia Dortmund U23 team – strengthened by the pros Kehl, Bender, Subotic and Blaszczykowski in the second half – won a training match on Friday at the club training ground in Brackel against Ajax Amsterdam by 4:3 (1:1).

The Dutch record champion took the lead midway through the first half with the rain pouring down. Özbeck equalised before half time through a penalty. The Dutch team then took the lead again, but after that first of all Weber – back in the fold after a lengthy absence through injury – and then Bender after the best combination of the whole match turned the game around with their goals.

Derstoff – also after having been out for a long time through injury – increased the score to 4:2. Head coach David Wagner could be happy that several of his players who had recently been out through injury were able to make an important step forward. Apart from the four pros, who all played the complete second half, there were also three players from abroad who were given a run-out. (po/br)
