Shinji Kagawa scored his third goal of the season in the 80th minute to seal a 3-0 victory over Paderborn for BVB. It was his first goal at Signal Iduna Park since his comeback in the Black and Yellow of Dortmund against Freiburg on matchday four and understandably, the Japan international was delighted after the game: "I've owed the fans that for a long time. I hope that I can keep up this form until the end of the season," he said in an interview.

Shinji Kagawa celebrates passionately after scoring against Paderborn.

Shinji, many congratulations on the 3-0 win! It was a fully deserved victory…
That's true. I think that we would have liked to score a goal in the first half too, but we managed to make up for it in the second half. But overall it was a very convincing performance from us. I think it's fair to say we looked good both in attack and in defence.

You scored your third goal of the season, and you celebrated with real passion. How important was the goal for you? Was it a real weight off your shoulders?
Of course. I finally scored again, and that goal came at home as well. I've owed the fans that for a long time. I haven't played quite as I'd have liked to this season and that's rankled with me, so that goal made me all the happier. I hope that I can keep up this form until the end of the season.

You still have five Bundesliga matches left this season. What can you still achieve?
We're taking it game by game. At the moment it's important that we keep up this form and that we continue to work as a team like we did today. Then we'll be able to win the next match too.

What was your personal reaction to Jürgen Klopp's decision to step down from his role as coach at the end of the season?
It's obviously a massive loss for this football club, but the decision has to be his and his alone. That's his prerogative. For us it means that we need to give even more in the last few games of the season. We are very thankful to him and we owe him that. Of course there is an element of sadness there too. But that's football. We just need to keep looking forward. (djg)
