With new Bundesliga season imminent, Borussia Dortmund have joined instant messaging service Snapchat. Users of the popular mobile app with the yellow ghost symbol can now get exclusive, up-to-the-minute insights into everyday life in the squad and the wider Borussia Dortmund universe.

“With the launch of our Snapchat account we are giving younger fans in particular another exciting way to receive BVB news and content via an app that’s hugely popular around the world. The playful, cheeky nature of Snapchat complements our other digital services perfectly”, says David Görges, Head of New Media/CRM at BVB. To mark the launch, around the SIGNAL IDUNA PARK there is a special yellow-black filter so that users can really get into the BVB spirit during their visit to the world’s most beautiful stadium and send their impressions to other Snapchat users. “The direct, immediate nature of typical Snapchat content means we can be closer to the action than ever before”, explains Peter Flore, New Media Editor at Borussia Dortmund. In addition to the short messaging service Twitter and exciting Instagram Stories, Snapchat will now be a key component of real-time fan interaction, particularly on BVB matchdays.

To follow BVB on Snapchat, all users have to do is scan the Snapcode shown here using the Snapchat app and add the BVB account to their contacts. (pf)
