One week after the Cup Final against VfL Wolfsburg, season 2014/15 is still not over for most of the BVB pros. 16 players are still on international duty for their countries, some of them even into the second half of June.

Moving the Champions League Final to a Saturday means the schedule is still quite tight for the international players in the “uneven years” without a World Cup or a EURO tournament.

Erik Durm, Mats Hummels, Ilkay Gündogan and Roman Weidenfeller will play the last internationals of the season on the 10th June in Cologne against the USA and on the 13th June in Faro, Portugal against Gibraltar (EURO qualifier).

Matthias Ginter will be part of the German U21 squad playing at the European Championship in the Czech Republic from the 17th to the 30th June. The 21 year old said: “I want to win a title again and achieve something great again. I could just not imagine being on holiday somewhere when the U21 is playing.”

There will also not be any holidays for Jeremy Dudziak (U20 World Cup in New Zealand until the 20th June), Jakub Blaszczykowski and Lukasz Piszczek (playing for Poland against Georgia and Greece), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (playing for Gabon against the Ivory Coast), Shinji Kagawa (playing for Japan against Iraq and Singapore), Sokratis (playing for Greece against Poland), Mitch Langerak (playing for Australia against Kirgizstan), Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Armenia v Portugal), Kevin Kampl (playing for Slovenia against England), Ciro Immobile (playing for Italy against Croatia and Portugal) and also Milos Jojic, who will be in the Serbia U21 squad at the European Championship. (br)
