After eight competitive matches in 31 days, a small portion of BVB's first-team squad will have the chance to recharge their batteries during the international break. Fifteen of Thomas Tuchel's squad, however, have linked up with their national teams. The majority of them will return to Dortmund on 8 or 9 September - three of four days before the Bundesliga match in Hanover.

The Black and Yellow players back in BVB training from Wednesday include Weidenfeller, Subotic, Schmelzer, Bender, Leitner, Hofmann and Castro.
