Borussia Dortmund have emerged triumphant in their second match in 2016, following up the clear 4-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt three days ago with a 4-1 (2-1) win against Korean champions Jeonbuk Hyundai. Marco Reus, Gonzalo Castro, Joo-Ho Park and Christian Pulisic got the goals for the Black and Yellows.

The almost 3,000 fans in the Al Wasl Stadium were treated to spectacular attacking football by Tuchel's charges, though there were visible problems in the final third and defence. As much was evident when a Korean was allowed to cross from the left in the 10th minute, with Weidenfeller powerless to prevent the onrushing Dong-gook heading home. They threatened again on 28 minutes, with Dong-gook seemingly set to grab a second, only for Sokratis to save the day.

Otherwise, though, Borussia were in control. They had taken the lead through Reus, who controlled a pass from Aubameyang on the edge of the box before scoring with a left-footed shot. Other good opportunities followed: Aubameyang was thwarted by a Jeonbuk defender at the last minute (6'); a Hummels effort from 22 metres was punched away (7'); Aubameyang shot from a narrow angle, Piszczek had two headed chances (20'/21'); Castro shot from 15 metres (24'); and Aubameyang missed from seven metres (30').

The Gabon international's fourth attempt did go in (a 34th minute header), but was wrongly disallowed - Hummels was offside, but not interfering with play. Yet Borussia did manage to take a deserved lead in at the break, Mkhitaryan bursting down the right and cutting the ball back to Castro, who converted with a low shot (42').

Tuchel made 10 changes at the break, introducing Erik Durm, who was making his comeback after six months out with injury. Joo-Ho Park was left on - and scored a third in the 53th minute thanks to a superb Leitner pass.

Though technically stronger, the Koreans proved to be a bit too tough into the tackle, and BVB were largely able to keep them at arm's length in the second period. And when Jeonbuk did break through, Park was on hand, the Korean clearing the ball from his own line after Bürki had been outmanoeuvred (73').

Borussia continued to pose a threat as they ventured forward. The young Pulisic regularly caused trouble on the left, and his A-Youth team-mate Passlack had two attempts on goal too. Pulisic rounded off the victory in stoppage time following Kagawa's assist.

Early tomorrow morning (8:35 local time), the team will fly back to Germany.
