Munich’s Peter Sippel will officiate the Bundesliga match between Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim on Sunday. Assistants Christian Leicher and Guido Kleve will also be called into action. Sascha Stegemann will be acting as fourth official.

So far in the Bundesliga, Sippel has taken charge of 21 matches in which BVB have been involved, including 12 matches away from home. These results were extremely positive from a Dortmund perspective, with a total of fourteen wins, five draws and only two defeats. The graduate of business management is single and lists his hobbies as ‘sport in general’ as well as reading.

In the previous year and a half he has not officiated any Borussia Dortmund fixtures in the Bundesliga, although he did referee three DFB Cup matches (2014/15 against the Stuttgart Kickers, and this season in Chemnitz and against Paderborn).

46 year old Sippel has been active in the Bundesliga since 2000. He can look back on 213 appearances in the German top flight.
