Not only does a great game await the BVB fans tomorrow night in the stadium, but also a fantastic initiative to benefit the Neven Subotic Foundation. Just as it did last year, in celebration of the game against FC Bayern Munich, Evonik, Borussia Dortmund’s main sponsor, is giving the foundation all of its advertising space for free to enable the Neven Subotic Foundation to introduce itself. The aim is to make spectators aware of the foundation and to give them information about its work.

“Our main priority is to offer kids a path through life, and to give them the opportunity to build a future for themselves. We warmly invite the fans to show some heart, and take part” said BVB player Neven Subotic.

There will be different ways to make contact with the foundation in the stadium and to get to know the true significance of essential life resources such as water, as well as to make a donation. Fans will, for example, be able to round up their payments at the beloved “Bratwurst und Bier” food stand in order to contribute to the foundation hassle-free.

Furthermore, volunteers will be standing at the ready in different parts of the stadium to give information about the foundation. Equipped with leaflets and donation boxes, they will gladly answer all questions regarding the work of the foundation and Neven Subotic, who, as before, continues to cover all of the foundation’s administration costs so that 100% of every donation can be put towards its projects directly.

The beloved BVB App can also be used to access information about the foundation’s work – including photos and videos of well building projects in Ethiopia. From the App, yopu can access the website directly, where more detailed information can be found. Regardless of how you donate, you can be sure that all donations are handled transparently, and that they reach their intended destination in Ethiopia.

To get to a source of water in Ethiopia, the people there, mainly women and children, must walk on average six kilometres. Whoever wishes to experience this for himself or herself is warmly invited to participate in the ‘Water Rally’: It will be made abundantly clear what it is to have to carry 20 litres of water – this is the average weight a human being must carry from a water source back to their dwelling every single day in Ethiopia.

About the Neven Subotic Foundation

The Neven Subotic Foundation primarily sees its role in giving children from the poorest regions on earth the chance of a better future. The foundation is able to provide them with access to clean and safe drinking water, sanitation equipment and hygiene. The foundation is concerned with the fundamental rights of the children so that their dreams of a better life can become real. Disadvantaged children should be able to sculpt the life they want for themselves via their own efforts and conviction, if the circumstances in which they find themselves are improved for the long term.
