Regardless what the result will be in the 2nd leg on (Whit-) Monday in Munich: Borussia Dortmund's A Juniors deserved the big stage after a phenomenal season and winning the West-German Championship. Head Coach Hannes Wolf said: "it's great that so many people came."

A dream goal from more than 50 metres in the second last minute meant that BVB suffered an undeserved 1-2 defeat against TSV 1860 Munich, however they only had themselves to blame. But there was still lots of applause from the 15117 spectators who came to the game after the final whistle. This crowd - as we found out today - was not the record crowd ever for a Juniors game in Germany, however it was a record crowd for a semi-final and this meant that everyone had an evening to remember. Their Head Coach added: "we would have preferred to play a better game of football in this atmosphere. All in all we were to careless and lost too many balls, we made too many wrong decisions and we did not play the way we can actually play."

Borussis did not get their just rewards for starting the game strongly, however they took the lead 1-0 through a penalty on the stroke of half time. But then they had two black-outs in defense and they could not bring any ideas into their attacking play or find their way through regardless how hard they tried.

Felix Passlack said: "the first half is over with, the second half is ahead of us on Monday" and he added in a fighting spirit: "that's when we want to do a better job and put on the right amount of pressure. I would prefer to be behind at half-time than at the end of the game." Head Coach Hannes Wolf summarised it in an similar fashion after the 1-2 defeat in the 1st leg: "of course the result is a small disadvantage, but we still have 90 minutes to play and I would never say that the game is over with. We still have every chance!" Boris Rupert
