Borussia Dortmund’s U17s are in the final of the German B-Juniors Championship for the 12th time in their history and for the third year in a row. Four days after the 3-2 home victory, the BVB Juniors celebrated their semi-final return leg success through goals from Aydinel, Kopacz, Kilian and a brace from Kehr, to run out 5-1 winners over VfB Stuttgart.

Benjamin Hoffmann’s team got off to a dream start and were already 2-0 up after 9 minutes. Emre Aydinel gave the U17s the lead in the 5th minute with a real poacher’s goal, and David Kopacz doubled the lead with a spectacular curler in the 10th minute. With both home and away match scorelines taken into account, the Black and Yellows were leading 5-2 at this point.

In a fast-paced encounter, the Swabians got one back after a quarter of an hour through Rogalsky and kept the match in the balance until half-time.

VfB had a chance to equalise in the 53rd minute, yet Günes’ effort sailed over the crossbar. At the other end, Kopacz hit the side-netting in the 54th minute, and substitute Bulut was foiled by VfB Keeper Weisheit in the 62nd minute. 12 minutes before the end, BVB could have put the game to bed; first, Wanner wasted a chance to make it 3-1, and following that Kilian hit the crossbar.

Robin Kehr sealed the match for BVB. The Borusse, after having just come on, ended a counter-attack with a goal in the 70th minute to make it 3-1. The Black and Yellows weren’t finished there, however. VfB Keeper Weisheit did pull off a brilliant save to deny Bulut and a fourth goal for BVB, but he was helpless to stop Luca Kilian scoring to make it 4-1, and right before the final whistle Robin Kehr scored his second to make the final score 5-1.

The final will take place next Sunday (19th June) at the Rote Erde stadium. Kick-off is at 13:00 CET. Further pre-sale information will follow on Monday.
