At the age of 25, and with 99 Bundesliga appearances already under his belt, he is the most experienced of the six signings made up until now at Borussia Dortmund. Sebastian Rode wants at BVB "more time on the field of play and, together with the many other young players here, to be part of a revolution".

Sebastian Rode on first impressions and getting used to things:
"We've got a very cohesive group here. Everyone is being very welcoming, so that I feel good. I was received very warmly and the training conditions are excellent. I have had a lot of fun here so far, and I hope that will continue. For me it is simply about getting into the team, staying fit and putting in a good performance."

... on why he transferred to Borussia:
"I am a very patient man and had had two great years at Bayern, but towards the end I was not getting the game time that I had hoped for, and I had a little think about how things should continue. Now I have a new task in front of me. I want more time on the field of play while at Dortmund, and I want to be part of a revolution with all the other young players here."

... a possible leadership role as part of a young team:
"I have already managed to gain a lot of experience with Bayern, including involvement in the Champions League. I can call on that. I would like to grow into a leadership role. We have only been together as a unit for just under two weeks, and the squad is not yet complete. It is important to have depth in the squad, perhaps with 18-20 players who are playing at a certain level."

...on Manager Thomas Tuchel:
"I have known him a long time. He is a meticulous trainer who sets much store by details, by having fun when playing and who wants the ball moved up the field quickly. He has already demonstrated what he is capable of. To lead our revolution, he is the perfect man."
