Roman Weidenfeller enjoyed a quiet evening at Trier's Moselstadion. During BVB's 3-0 victory the custodian only had to deal with one shot on target. But it was another statistic altogether that stole the show...

Roman, what are your thoughts?
"We saw the game out very well. We should definitely have scored more goals in the end, but we can be very happy with the result. It was a decent performance. We are in the next round; that was the objective."

How important was the early goal?
"We knew beforehand that the Moselstadion has produced one or two surprises over the years. We were warned and we played with great concentration from the first minute to the last and deserved to win too."

By making your 434th competitive appearance in Trier, you moved level with club legend Lars Ricken. What does it mean to be in second place on BVB's all-time appearance list?
"I'm incredibly proud to have made so many appearances for such a great club. It's not exactly an unprecedented occurrence, but it's not something you see so often these days." (cb)
